Sometime after G.I. Joe went public, Ben left the organization and became a mercenary. When Duke left the Joes, he joined up with Ben, who was still operating in Eastern Europe. The two decided to make a play at taking down Cobra, recruiting Isaac Craft to help them. While Ben wanted to hold back on attacking Cobra, Duke insisted they strike. However, their plan went wrong and Isaac was killed by the undercover Snake Eyes. In the aftermath, Ben and Duke parted ways. The Iron Klaw TFWikiFavicon.png

Sometime later, Big Ben and his new team were tracking a group of covert agents through Europe, eventually finding them in Greece where they were mining a cache of Ore-13 inside Mount Olympus. The agents killed Ben’s entire team and left him for dead. The only clue he was able to retrieve regarding their identity was a pair of G.I. Joe dog tags. Ben sent out a distress beacon, which was picked up by Ian Noble and his partner Terrence Salmons. Ben told Ian what happened to him, giving him the dog tags. With the Ore-13 about to go critical, Ben told Ian about the danger of the crystals and how he must warn the proper authorities. Ian was forced to abandon Ben as the Ore-13 exploded. As he lay there dying, Big Ben pulled out a picture of his daughter. Concorde Hymn TFWikiFavicon.png
