G.I. Joe: Hearts & Minds is a 2010 comic miniseries released by IDW Publishing. Each issue contains two character spotlight stories, one about a member of G.I. Joe and one about a member of Cobra.

Overview[edit | edit source]

The featured Cobras are Major Bludd, who commits horrific acts in order to provide for his family; Firefly, who exploits both mechanical and human flaws in his sabotage missions; the Interrogator, who attempts to extract information from a captured soldier; Dr. Mindbender, who rejects the concepts of right and wrong in his pursuit of scientific truth; and four Cobra troopers, who explain the reasons why they joined the criminal organization.

The featured Joes are Spirit, who reveals that his tracking prowess is the product of a medical condition; Tripwire, who reflects on a lost love while defusing a bomb; Deep Six, who is constantly imagining the many ways he could die underwater; Doc, who experiences triumphs and tragedies throughout his medical career; and Blowtorch, who defends the use of fire-based weaponry in modern warfare.

Creative team[edit | edit source]

The series is written by Max Brooks. The Cobra stories feature art by Howard Chaykin and colors by Aburtov, while the G.I. Joe stories feature art by Antonio Fuso; Fuso's art is colored by Lovern Kindzierski in the first 2 issues and by Filippo Flores in the final 3.
