General Blitz was the leader of the Iron Army in World War II.

Fiction[edit | edit source]

During an engagement with the Iron Army, Sgt. Savage and his Screaming Eagles were outmatched by General Blitz's forces. They implemented a strategy called the "notional mole," making it appear that a double agent had infiltrated the Iron Army. Unable to find this non-existent spy, Blitz was driven paranoid, and had one-third of his high command executed on suspicions of being the mole.

Years later, Joe Colton regaled this tale to Roadblock when the latter expressed his worry about a spy in G.I. Joe. Threat Matrix, Part 1 of 4

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • General Blitz is based on the character of the same name from the Sgt. Savage and his Screaming Eagles subline of the G.I. Joe franchise. In the original Sgt. Savage story, Blitz was Garrison Kreiger, a soldier serving under Savage in WWII until he betrayed his platoon to the I.R.O.N. Army. Revolutionaries later introduced a character named "Garrison Kreiger" (later revealed to be Merklynn in disguise) who used part of this backstory. However, due to Kreiger/Merklynn's history and the fact that General Blitz is never named as "Garrison Kreiger" (or vice-versa), the two have to be separate characters.
