Humans (also known as "fleshies" by Cybertronians) are the dominant sentient species on the planet Earth. Though far from the least advanced species in the galaxy, they are technologically backward compared to their galactic neighbours.

In terms of physical abilities, they are of average size and build compared to other species.

The universe however, seems to hate them.

Overview[edit | edit source]

History[edit | edit source]

Human beings began evolving on the planet Earth around 8 to 10 million years ago. The Crucible TFWikiFavicon.png The Cybertronian artifact known as the Enigma of Combination, launched from Cybertron by Galvatron, played a role in their evolution by fostering cooperation between human minds and pushing along their development at key moments. Human beings first became aware of alien life either through an encounter with Maximals (a faction of Cybertronian zealots), Hearts of Steel #1 TFWikiFavicon.png or through the arrival of the Dire Wraiths. Earthfall: Part Three The human race as a whole became aware of alien life when the Decepticons invaded the world in 2008. All Hail Megatron TFWikiFavicon.png Though the Autobots defeated the Decepticons, a strong anti-alien feeling began to grow among the humans with the Cybetronians becoming a particular target of the hatred. Human society was divided into several nation states across the planet and thus lacked a singular leader or head of planetary government much to Rom's shock and alarm. Earthfall: Part Two

When humans started becoming aware that they were not alone in the universe, the United States of America formed Skywatch to deal with the increasingly large number of Cybertronians on Earth, Escalation #5 TFWikiFavicon.png before internal power struggles and PR issues caused its collapse and reformation into the international (though still largely US funded) Earth Defense Command. A Lonely Pillar on the Plain TFWikiFavicon.png The EDC operated for about three years being known as a largely trustworthy organization that people felt comfortable reporting alien threats or sightings too. However, the EDC's era would be short lived as the President and much of the United Nations viewed their performance as sub-par during Optimus Prime's controversial annexation of Earth. No Fair Fights TFWikiFavicon.png General Joe Colton was given command of the organization, White Light TFWikiFavicon.png before it was completely disbanded and replaced with an international version of G.I. Joe. A Lonely Pillar on the Plain TFWikiFavicon.png G.I. Joe vol. 5 #1 TFWikiFavicon.png

Eventually, the United Nations elected Marissa Faireborn as Earth's first interstellar ambassador to be the human voice on the Council of Worlds. Origin Myths TFWikiFavicon.png Joe Colton's Iron Ring however attacked Cybertron during the induction ceremony out of the belief that Cybertron would destroy Earth. His attack caused a surge in Cybertron's anti-human sentiment. First Strike Primeless, Part 1 TFWikiFavicon.png

Despite the Cybertronians arresting Colton, there remained humans who believed he was acting justifiably and protested for his release. Surfeit of Primes TFWikiFavicon.png

After Unicron had been defeated, Ceremony TFWikiFavicon.png the humans began living alongside the Elonians and Cybertronians in a new era of cooperation. Post TFWikiFavicon.png

Technology[edit | edit source]

Human technology is largely primitive compared to the other species in the galaxy. What they do is largely derived from Cybertronian sources either through the Enigma fostering cooperation or mundane reverse engineering from leftover Cybertronian artifacts. ONoffON TFWikiFavicon.png M.A.S.K.: Revolution As part of their long term infiltration of Earth, the Dire Wraiths would interfere with human development and commission projects to their own ends advancing human knowledge. Earthfall: Part Three Field Test

As a result of this, human technology is at a higher level than the Solstar Order expected it to be when Rom arrived on Earth. Earthfall: Part Four

Culture[edit | edit source]

Humans are known for having a rich culture comprised of many forms of media. The Autobots aboard the Lost Light were noted to enjoy Earth culture The One Where They Go to Earth TFWikiFavicon.png and several Dire Wraiths were able to quote Earth writers and religious texts. Earthfall: Part Three Reinforcements, Part 3 Action Man Ian Noble was also very media savvy frequently comparing the strange sights on his missions to pieces of pop culture that he'd previously seen. Physiology[edit | edit source]

When arriving on Earth, Rom compared human biology to that of the Elonians and said the two species were not too different in a biological sense as well as similar to a myriad of other organic lifeforms. Earthfall: Part Two

Humans were genetically compatible with Dire Wraiths allowing the two species to crossbreed, G.I. Joe vol. 5 #4 TFWikiFavicon.png and create Wraith/Human hybrids. G.I. Joe vol. 5 #5 TFWikiFavicon.png
