The Sky Hawk (or Skyhawk) is a VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) aircraft used by the G.I. Joe team. It is equipped with a pair of 20mm cannons located underneath the cockpit as well as missiles that are launched from the underside of the vehicle. Due to the Sky Hawk's small size, it can only seat one to two passengers, meaning Joes will often ride shotgun by standing on the vehicle's landing skids. This doesn't seem particularly safe but they don't let you into G.I. Joe for not taking risks.

Years later, after G.I. Joe became an international organization, Talon piloted a Sky Hawk with Flint riding on its skid to the Matterhorn, traveling there to monitor the developing situation between Optimus Prime's Autobots and the newly arrived Junkions. As the Junkion leader Wreck Gar reached for his craft, Talon opened fire on him, blowing the Junkion to bits, not that that meant much to him. Notes[edit | edit source]

  • The Sky Hawk has never actually been referred to by name in IDW's comics thus far, meaning we don't know if it's spelled as two words as the original toy had it or as one word like most modern toys have it.
