Fiction[edit | edit source]

The Solstar Order formed roughly three hundred years ago, after the first attack by the Dire Wraiths on the Elonian star system. Orphion and Carax, having both experienced personal loss at the hands of the Wraiths, decided to create an organization dedicated to the eradication of the Wraith menace. Overtime, they grew to be a respected interstellar power with their organization being composed of many species. With brilliant minds and skilled warriors filling out their ranks, the Solstar Order was able to develop technologies to combat the Wraiths, including their signature weapon, the Neutralizer. Knights of the Solstar Order profile Like most interstellar powers, they would come to have a low opinion of the Cybertronian race. The Solstar Order was known throughout the galaxy as a force for good. The Dire Wraiths invaded Elonia for an ore beneath its surface which resulted in the formation of the Space Knights with Rom being the first among them. Following this, the Order went to war with the Wraiths. Cold Fire

The Wraiths were expelled from Elonia after a month of fighting, Earthfall: Part Two Long Roads to Ruin, Part 3 and the Knights took the fight all the way to the Wraith homeworld managing to destroy it. The Order also shared a border with the Galactic Council known as the Gray Area though the two parties were happy to ignore each other. That changed however upon the Wraiths scattering following their homeworld's destruction. With the Wraiths scattered all across Solstar territory, it was feared they would try and flee into Galactic Council space. The Solstar Order opened communications with the Council to try and negotiate a treaty between the two powers so as to allow the Space Knights safe passage through Council space. The Council agreed to at least discuss this and sent a delegation to Orchid Crossing. Shining Armor #1 TFWikiFavicon.png After the Autobot/Decepticon war spilled over into the conflict and resulted in the death of the Council representatives, Orphion took over the negotiations to try and salvage the treaty to no avail. With the Wraiths now scattered all across the galaxy, the Space Knights spent the next 200 years pursuing the Wraiths across the galaxy. In late 2016, Rom tracked a Wraith signature all the way to a distant planet called Earth. Earthfall: Part Two

D'rge commented that it was strange for Rom to come to Earth alone, since the Space Knights usually traveled in pairs which led him to conclude the Solstar Order did not know Rom was on Earth. Earthfall: Part Three

When Rom met Optimus Prime, the Space Knight reiterated the Solstar Order's opinion of the Cybertronian race, The Divine Source of Liberty TFWikiFavicon.png only to learn the Cybertronians themselves had a low opinion of the Solstar Order for willingly endorsing the genocide of a whole species and killing without trial or mercy. Shortly after Rom arrived, two other Space Knights, Orphion and Livia traveled to Earth, landing on Pismo Beach. Earthfall: Part Four They began eliminating Wraiths across the world and eventually found Rom upon his return to Cooper's Mill, encouraging him to kill the Wraith-Infected Camilla Byers. Reinforcements, Part 1

After that mess had been sorted out and (relatively) cooler heads began to prevail, Orphion chewed Rom out for violating countless procedural rules of the Solstar Order while Rom retorted that the Solstar Order had become complacent in the war and only reacted in it instead of seizing the initiative. Reinforcements, Part 3 The Wraith Priest expressed the same opinion saying the Order fought war like children only mindlessly blowing up anything even remotely different. Interlude

The Decepticon Bludgeon considered destroying the Solstar Order when he had successfully reactivated Trypticon. Salvation TFWikiFavicon.png Elita One had encountered the Solstar Order at some point and considered them a formidable threat. When they detected an unusual Dire Wraith emanating from Cybertron they placed the planet under quarantine and barred the Carcerians from teleporting into Iacon much to the rage of Elita and Starscream. First Strike #2 TFWikiFavicon.png Given Cybertron's resultant state after the crisis, Starscream felt the Solstar Order owed Cybertron for establishing their obstructive blockade. The Dead Come Home, Part 1 TFWikiFavicon.png

In early 2018, Elonia was attacked by the monstrous Unicron where it was revealed that Space Knight armor was in fact "Ore-12". Despite the best efforts of the Space Knights and the Transformers, Unicron devoured the planet. Our Darkest TFWikiFavicon.png In the aftermath, the survivors would consider the Solstar Order as having been destroyed by the Chaos Bringer. Ad Infinitum

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Despite the opening lines, the territory of the Solstar Order in the IDW timeline is concentrated exclusively in the Milky Way galaxy.
  • "Sol" in Latin means "sun" and the sun is a star meaning that in plain English, the organization's name is "Starstar Order".
