They couldn't call it "Flick Knife" because the CCA was afraid that the "L" would run into the "I".

The Switchblade is Miles "Mayhem" Manheim's personal war machine. Developed through Mayhem's own Project Spectrum, it is a powerful aircraft that has the ability to switch between a helicopter mode for maneuverability and a jet mode for speed.

Fiction[edit | edit source]

After the other members of M.A.S.K. engaged the Autobots Kup and Aileron in battle, Miles Mayhem arrived, flying the Switchblade in helicopter mode. Noting that Kup was worth more alive, Mayhem used the Switchblade's weapons to incapacitate the elder Autobot. He then switched to jet mode to chase after Aileron. When Action Man helped Kup break out of G.I. Joe headquarters on Governor's Island, Mayhem piloted the Switchblade to try to stop the escape. Mayhem fired the Switchblade's guns on Kup before ordering Matt Trakker to attack with the Thunderhawk. However, Mainframe then ordered a firing sequence from Chinese laser satellites, during which Kup and Action Man. Mayhem then landed the Switchblade to demand an explanation from Mainframe. Mayhem later flew Switchblade in an assault on Autobot City by the combined forces of M.A.S.K. and the Dire Wraiths. When Mayhem gloated about his plans to control Earth after destroying the Transformers, his Wraith allies turned on him and attacked the Switchblade, forcing it to the ground. Thanks to the Cybertronian technology implemented in its design, and his machinations with Baron Karza, Mayhem was able to use the Switchblade to remotely activate Metrotitan's spacebridge, allowing Karza to arrive from Microspace. In truth, Mayhem survived and built a new Switchblade that he used in an attack on Matt Trakker's M.A.S.K. team in Barbados. M.A.S.K. #1 He later engaged Trakker's Thunderhawk in the air. Matt was able to significantly damage Switchblade and Mayhem was forced to retreat. M.A.S.K. #2

Cornered by M.A.S.K. in Toronto, Mayhem summoned his vehicle with a remote control in his belt. The Switchblade fired at M.A.S.K., allowing V.E.N.O.M. to slip away. Trakker and Mayhem engaged each other once more, with Switchblade towing a crate of prototype Masks during the fight, forcing it to remain tin its helicopter mode. Mayhem used his Mask to sever Thunderhawk's wings, but Matt ejected and used his Spectrum Mask's anti-gravity abilities to land on the crate and sever its cords. Matt then unleashed a blast of energy on the Switchblade, destroying it; Mayhem ejected from it at the last minute. M.A.S.K. #5

Mayhem flew a new Switchblade to Alice Springs, Australia in order to meet with Destro and exchange Astrotrain's head. Before the exchange could happen, the meeting was interrupted by Matt Trakker and Scarlett in the Thunderhawk. While the G.I. Joe leader engaged Cliff Dagger, Mayhem retreated to the Switchblade. He tried attacking Joe sniper Sci-Fi, only to be stopped by Trakker, and the two began dogfighting. During the battle, Trakker lured Mayhem into a trap, with Scarlett using Dagger and his Torch Mask to light the Switchblade on fire and forcing it down. The Deathstone
