New Prysmos
Existing near the core of Cybertron, New Prysmos is a city-sized reborn version of the lost planet Prysmos. Compared to the vast cities that doted the surface of that planet however, New Prysmos is little more than a glorified refugee camp.
Fiction[edit | edit source]
In the forgotten past, there existed the planet Prysmos, a world ruled by magic as opposed to science. But as time passed, magic was replaced by technology so advanced that the arcana vast became redundant. The only survivor of this transition was the wizard Merklynn who schemed to restore magic to its former standing. To that end, he masterminded the Trinary Re-Alignment, aligning the three stars that Prysmos orbited so as to shut down all technology on the planet. Merklynn was hasty in crafting his spell however and the three stars drifted out of alignment, the gravitational forces ripping the planet apart. A minority of survivors fled into space, Schismatic Merklynn among them who swore to find a new world for the Prysmosians to inhabit. Sometime prior to World War II, he made his way to the planet Earth disguising himself as "Garrison Kreiger". First Strike #6
During the war's later days, Kreiger would discover the mysterious Talisman and became inspired to use it to recreate Prysmos. Strange Visitors First Strike #6
When Joe Colton came to Kreiger for usage of the Talisman to destroy the Cybertronians, First Strike #0 Kreiger saw an opportunity to use the Talisman to terraform Cybertron into a reborn Prysmos.
The resistance he faced however prompted him to revise his plan of reaching Cybertron's core and activate the Talisman prematurely. As a result, only a small portion of the planet's underground was transformed into "New Prysmos" which Merklynn claimed would be the staging ground for the age of magic. First Strike #6
The Cybertronians were quick to establish a forcefield around New Prysmos and arrest Merklyyn for his crimes against them. New Prysmos soon became home to a handful of Prysmosian refugees who debated how to proceed on Cybertron. Windblade sent Kup and Ironhide to negotiate with the Prysmosians and Wheeljack and Breakdown to examine the Talisman. Before the latter two even entered the city however, Breakdown's arm disintegrated from contact with Talisman energy whereupon Wheeljack discovered the forcefield was ineffective and that the Talisman's energies were continuing to spread outwards from New Prysmos. Schismatic
Once Virulina had discovered the Talisman's burrowing towards Vector Sigma, she rallied her people to take the fight to the Cybertronians, an action they readily supported. The Spectral Knights however took issue with this act but were chased out by the common citizenry forcing them to ally themselves with the Cybertronians. Cybertron No More
Virulina's hold over the city convinced Mortdred that he was better off aligning himself with the Spectral Knights and Cybertronians, leading a Arzon and Witterquick back into the city on a sabotage mission. When they arrived however, they found that Virulina had now properly swayed the remainder of the Spectral Knights and turned Waspinator into her personal chariot. Desperate Measures Virulina's torture of the prisoners however was too much for Cryotek to bear and he contacted Leoric to urge him to return to the city. Good Men
Leoric soon came running, rallying the Spectral Knights back under his banner, and charged at Virulina. Before a winner could emerge in their duel, Merklynn turned on them both, gloating that they were irrelevant to his future plans. It was then that Galadria's healing spell interacted with Wheeljack's anti-Talisman bomb and the device itself, mediating the energies of the devices and raising New Prysmos to Cybertron's surface, now surrounded by a hundred square metres of Prysmosian grassland. The Curtain
The Prysmosian colony kept to itself as the Cybertronian colony worlds came under assault from Unicron, being completely ignorant of the threat until Windblade approached them for aid when the Chaos Bringer began an assault on Cybertron directly. Inspired by the Talisman's raising New Prysmos to Cybertron's surface, Leoric used it to teleport all inhabitants of Cybertron to Earth. New Prymos itself was utterly destroyed when Unicron physically ripped Cybertron to pieces. Road's End
