Synopsis[edit | edit source]
As Tomax Paoli loses signal from Cobra Black Ops Team Echo, Isaac Craft loads Rashidov into their truck to flee the scene of the assassination attempt, returning the wounded rebel leader to the encampment. A local doctor diagnoses Rashidov with internal bleeding and a collapsed lung, and is able to provide emergency treatment, but insists that the rebel leader needs to be taken to a hospital. Craft decides to contact "Mr. Whelan", wagering that the arms supplier can get medical treatment for Rashidov. Spinetti's partner Nick arranges for him to be secretly treated at Skatsili Hospital, and the rebel is transferred. Waiting outside together, Craft reveals his doubts about "Whelan"'s story, leading Spinetti to admit that his true agenda is seeing Tomax dead, and also that he knows Craft's identity. The boy pulls a gun, but the OS agent shuts him down with a knife to the throat, before Craft reveals that he did indeed desert from Cobra.
Tomax travels to the site of the assassination attempt, discovering his dead troops, of which one is missing their helmet camera. Preparing for the inevitable media appearances, with a plan to spin the situation as an unprovoked separatist attack on peacekeepers, Paoli dispatches troops to find both Rashidov and the missing camera, knowing that the footage will implicate him in an assassination. At the hospital, Craft shows that very camera to Spinetti...
In London, Scarlett has disguised herself as a delivery person and bluffed her way to Siren's apartment door, and quickly takes the Cobra operative hostage at gunpoint. Admitting she is still in G.I. Joe's debt, Siren cooperates, and reveals that she has no idea where the deserted Isaac and Jon are. In response, the Joe reveals that Jon is dead and that the operatives hunting Isaac have been called off, neither of which Siren had been informed of. Knowing Siren is still only with Cobra because of Isaac, Scarlett offers asylum for both her and her son in return for the Cobra operative's help, a deal which she accepts. Meeting later at the London Eye, the Joe hands over surveillance equipment to be planted in the Cobra consulate, but both women are unaware that the Baroness is watching them from afar!
In Myuretz, the Joes' phone tap on Viktor pays off, as the fixer inadvertently reveals Rashidov's location at the hospital in Astakh. Heading there, they recon the building, but with no idea of Rashidov's current appearance, the search is fruitless, and Flint and Helix narrowly miss the rebel leader being moved out to a waiting van. Before the rebels leave, Spinetti lends Craft a tablet with which to read the helmet camera's memory card, agreeing that he will help the boy broadcast any incriminating evidence on Tomax it yields. Isaac drives Rashidov away, and even as Spinetti and Nick are discussing how dangerous the boy is, Craft shoots a policeman dead at a roadblock...
