Anthony S. Gambello, codename Flash, is a laser rifle trooper for G.I. Joe.

Fiction[edit | edit source]

Flash was stationed on Governor's Island when Ian Noble, the Action Man, broke in in order to release the Cybertronian prisoner Kup. When Mainframe requested requested an airstrike from Beijing's orbital laser satellite, Flash recognized that the beams were too low-energy to do any substantial damage. Flash was assigned to Mayday's team as part of the former Earth Defense Command officer's first command alongside Heavy Duty and Quarrel. On their first assignment in Verenya, Schleteva, the team was attacked by Human-Dire Wraith mutates, which quickly destroyed their Tomahawk. The Joes were then saved by Rom, and the team joined forces with the Space Knight to investigate what was creating the Wraith mutates. They followed the Wraith energy trail to an underground bunker, where they discovered the body of an Oktober Guard officer whom Quarrel identified as Shturmovik. Flash detected two heat signatures ahead, belonging to Action Man and Garrison Blackrock, who were engaged in a battle over the mysterious artifact called the Talisman. However, their squabble was soon interrupted by the arrival of the rest of the Oktober Guard, led by Major Bludd. As the Guard attacked the disparate groups, the Talisman activated, mutating Flash, Quarrel, and Heavy Duty. The three attacked the rest of the heroes, but Rom managed to subdue them.

The mutated Joes and civilians were later restrained and taken by the Action Man Programme in order to be cured, Crisis Intervention TFWikiFavicon.png with Blackrock directing them to take the mutates to his tower in Buenos Aires.

Once the Revolutionaries had recovered the Talisman and Garrison Kreiger, they too retreated to the Buenos Aires Onyx tower to await a G.I. Joe squadron to take custody of the Talisman and the mad scientist before the Iron Ring attacked. When Eagles Scream TFWikiFavicon.png During the battle, Ian Noble freed the Wraith-mutates in order to distract Doctor X. They soon rampaged across the facility, attacking both Ironblood's forces and the heroes. Fortunately, Blackrock was able to use his Titan Master abilities to link with the Talisman's O.S. and Metrotitan to send out a wave of energy that reverted the mutates back into humans.
